1,149,429. Refractories. KAISER ALUMINUM & CHEMICAL CORP. 21 Dec., 1966 [10 Jan., 1966], No. 57290/66. Heading C1J. A refractory composition consists of refractory aggregate, 0-2% of plasticizer, a finely divided reactive compound containing an alkaline metal oxide, NaH 2 PO 4 and 10- 200% (relative to NaH 2 PO 4 ) of a glassy alkali metal polyphosphate. The total P 2 O 5 content should not exceed 3%. Magnesia, -100 Tyler mesh, is the preferred reactive compound, though dolomite and lime can be used; periclase and/or chromite, dead burned dolomite, alumina and gannister are specified aggregates. Bentonite is used as a plasticizer.
