1,149,431. Fluorophosphate glass. ERNST LEITZ G.m.b.H. 21 June, 1967 [25 June, 1966], No. 28614/67. Heading C1M. A fluorophosphate glass is produced by fusing a mix comprising 9 to 12 mol per cent of the metaphosphates of the elements Li, Na, K, Mg and Al; 81 to 90 mol per cent of the fluorides of the elements Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba and Al; 0À4 to 7 mol per cent of at least one of the compounds potassium arsenate, potassium fluorotitanate, potassium fluorozirconate and potassium fluorotantalate, wherein the proportion of aluminium metaphosphate amounts to at least 50% by weight of the metaphosphates; the calcium fluoride amounts to between 40 and 60% by weight and the aluminium fluoride to substantially 50% by weight of the fluorides; the balance of the mix, if any, consisting of other compatible constituents. Examples are given.
