1,149,562. Burners. CHEMETRON CORP. 25 May, 1966 [3 June, 1965], No. 23456/66. Heading F4T. In a burner for use in melting and refining scrap metals and operated to maintain noise of combustion at a minimum a stream of natural gas is directed through the central pipe 14 of the burner, oxygen is directed through the coaxial annular channel between pipes 14, 15 at a less velocity and a stream of natural gas is directed at a lower velocity still through an annular coaxial passage between pipes 15, 16. Outer pipes 17, 18 provide a passage for cooling water. Other fuels liquid, gaseous or pulverulent may be used.
