Abstract

1,149,916. Valves. NUMATICS Inc. 20 June, 1966 [21 June, 1965], No. 27409/66. Heading F2V. In a fluid control system utilizing valves for controlling and directing fluid to a number of work devices, e.g. in plastic moulding operations, the valves are grouped on a mounting panel 16. The valves are accessible from both sides of the panel. Each valve has a mounting face mounted over an opening 34 in the panel by screws 36 so as to be visible from the rear of the panel, and bearing indicia as in Fig. 5, showing the function of each particular valve. The flow connections for each valve also open at this mounting face, and are connected by flexible tubing to connector blocks 38. These in turn are connected to further connector blocks 42 on a fixed panel 12 to which the panel 16 is hinged. Connections to external apparatus lead as shown from the blocks 42, and also to manual valves 24, 26, 28 and 30 on panel 12. The hinged panel 16 is closed at the front by a hinged door (20), Figs. 1-3 (not shown). A system for use in plastic moulding applications is described (Figs. 9 and 10, not shown) and the steps are set out of a typical moulding cycle.
