Abstract
1,205,408. Water heaters for central heating systems. JUNKERS & CO. G.m.b.H. 24 Nov., 1967 [25 Nov., 1966], No. 53487/67. Headings F4A and F4V. An expansion chamber for a central heating system comprises at least two cylindrical tanks 17, 18 arranged in a boiler casing 10 at the back of the water heater 12. As shown the tank 18 comprises a diaphragm separating the air space 26 from the water space, which air space is connected through pipe 21 to the air space of tank 17. Alternatively the tanks 17, 18 may be separate and have diaphragms therein, the water spaces being connected in parallel to the central heating circuit. The water heater 12 is gas fired and a thermal insulating plate 29 shields the tanks 17, 18. A cylindrical heat exchanger 28 forming a domestic water heater may be arranged in the space between the tanks 17, 18.
