Abstract

1,237,558. Electro measuring systems. GOTAVERKEN A. B. Nov. 7, 1968 [Nov. 8, 1967], No. 52786/68. Heading G1N. Apparatus for indicating the position of a turning point of a reciprocating machine element (e.g. for indicating the wear in the crank mechanism of an I. C. engine) comprises a differential transformer having primary 18 and secondary 19, 20 coils and a core 16 mounted on the machine element, the core entering the coils with clearance once during each working cycle of the machine to cause the transformer to emit a signal which is representative of the position of the lower turning point of the machine element. The signal is applied to an electronic unit 22 provided with an indicator 23 which actuates an alarm when the signal exceeds a predetermined value. The unit 22 may be provided with a time delay such that the signal emitted from the transformer is stored until the unit receives the following signal.
