Abstract
1290131 Hooks WESER AG 15 Jan 1970 [18 Jan 1969] 2099/70 Heading E2A A slip hook comprises a body 1 and a two armed hook member 2 pivotally mounted in the body, a first arm of the hook member being engaged by a locking pawl 3 which is controlled by a fluid pressure operated piston and cylinder assembly 4, the pawl serving to hold the hook member in the operating position, the said arm having a guide surface 11 which faces the pawl and cooperates with a follower of the pawl, the arrangement being such that movement of the piston and cylinder assembly in one direction allows the hook member to move from the operating position and movement of the piston and cylinder assembly in the other direction causes the follower to move the hook member from the slipping position to the operating position. In the construction shown the pawl holds the hook member in the operating position by engaging a recess in the hook member.
