Abstract
1297161 Joint-making packing; pipe couplings KEELAVITE HYDRAULICS Ltd 9 April 1970 [10 Jan 1969] 1735/69 Headings F2B and F2G A seal assembly e.g. for use in a pipe coupling comprises an abutment wall 15a, an 0-ring 6 and a deformable support ring 17, the surface of the support ring contacting the abutment wall 15a substantially along a line between its inner and outer radial peripheries. The wall 15a may be formed on a distance piece 14 which engages between a coupling member 1 and a split collet 12 borne by a ring nut 9, serrations 13 of the collet 12 gripping a pipe 4. The ring 17 may be of nylon, and the pipe coupling generally of the type disclosed in Specification 880,495.
