Abstract
1305270 Conveyers HACKEMACK KG 22 Oct 1970 [24 Oct 1969 6 Aug 1970] 50292/70 Heading B8A A pair of conveyers between which flat workpieces are fed is rotated through 180 degrees about a longitudinal axis in order to turn the workpieces over. As shown, the frame 3 of a pair of roller conveyers 1, 2 having driven rollers 5 is secured to members 6 which are rotatably supported by rollers 7, each member 6 being rotatable by chain driven means 9, 10. The frame 4 of the conveyer 2 is connected to the frame 3 by links 11, 12 which allow the spacing between the conveyers to be varied. In operation, workpieces having been fed between the conveyers 1, 2 at their maximum separation, the rollers 5 are stopped and the conveyer 2 is raised to grip the workpieces, this action being aided by resilient covers on the rollers. The conveyer assembly is then rotated through 180 degrees, the conveyers 1, 2 are separated and re-energized and the workpieces discharged. In a further embodiment, Fig. 6 (not shown), the conveyer frames (3, 4) are rigidly connected together and workpieces (15), during the rotation of the conveyer assembly, are gripped by inflatable hoses (17). In place of the roller conveyers, belt conveyers may be used.
