Abstract
1306628 Hydraulic pulse generating apparatus STAMICARBON N V 20 Sept 1971 [29 Sept 1970 10 April 1971] 43744/71 Heading F1P Liquid-filled columns 1, 2 Fig. 1 containing solid packing 3, 4 are subjected to pulsations by connecting their bases by lines 17, 18 to ports 33, 34 of a rotatably driven valve 19 having ports 30, 31 respectively connected by lines 23, 24 to the delivery and inlet sides of a pump 21. Thus when the valve rotor may be an elliptical plate is in the full line position pump delivery is connected through line 18 to column 2 whilst pump suction is connected through line 17 to column 1. Each column has light and heavy liquid inlets 9, 10 and corresponding outlets 13, 14 and the pumped liquid may comprise the heavy liquid or a liquid immiscible therewith. For use with a single column valve port 34 is connected to the head of the column. In a modification the inlet and delivery side of a pump 206 Fig. 5 are selectively connected through air vessels 204, 205 and mechanically connected rotary valves 202, 203 to the base of a pulsation column 201.
