1306738 Reactive phthalocyanine dyestuffs BAYER AG 9 Oct 1970 [11 Oct 1969] 48095/70 Heading C4P The invention comprises reactive dyestuffs of the general formula wherein Pc is an optionally metallized phthalocyanine radical, R 1 and R 2 are H or alkyl which may be substituted and together with the N atom and optionally further hetero atoms may form an optionally substituted hetero ring or R 1 and R 2 are optionally substituted cycloalkyl, aralkyl or aryl radicals, R 3 , R 4 and T 5 are H or C 1 -C 3 alkyl radicals optionally substituted by hydroxyl, “alkylene” is a C 2 -C 6 alkylene chain, X is a direct bond or a group -N(R 6 )- where R 6 is H or a C 1 -C 3 alkyl radical optionally substituted by an hydroxyl group, “arylene” is an arylene radical optionally substituted by C 1 -C 6 alkyl, C 1 -C 6 alkoxy, halogen, sulphonic acid, carboxyl, carboxamide and/or carboxylic acid ester groups having 1-4 carbon atoms in the alcohol radical, Z is a substituent bearing a reactive group; a and c are number from 1 to 3 and b is a number from 0 to 2, the sum a+b+c being not greater than 4, each sulphonic acid or sulphonamide group being attached to a different benzene ring of the phthalocyanine nucleus in the 3 or 4 position. They are prepared (a) by reacting a phthalocyanine compound containing an amino group with a compound Y-Z where Z is as above and Y is a substituent eliminated as H-Y during the reaction or (b) by reacting a compound of the formula H-N(R 3 )-alkylene-N(R 4 )-CO-X-aryl ene-N(R 5 )H with a compound Y-Z and the product with a compound Pc(SO 3 H) m (SO 2 Cl) n optionally in presence of an amine HN(R 1 )R 2 where X, R 1 -R 5 &c. are as defined above, m is 0 to 2, n is 2 to 4 and m + n is not greater than 4, any residual sulphonic acid chloride groups being hydrolysed to sulphonic acid groups. The dyes are used to dye cellulose, wool, silk, synthetic polyamides and polyurethanes in turquoise-blue shades.
