1310759 Electromechanical indicators TELDIX GmbH 22 May 1970 [24 May 1969 (2)] 24807/70 Heading H2A In an electromechanical indicator comprising a permanent magnet rotor and a plurality of stator poles carrying energizing windings, the axis of magnetization of the rotor does not coincide with the line of attraction between the rotor and an energized stator pole. As shown, a rotor 16 designed to adopt any of ten positions is formed with ten equally spaced grooves 17 and the magnetic axis 20 is displaced from the centre line 119 of two diametrically opposed rotor poles. The rotor does not then tend to remain in one position when the stator is energized to rotate the rotor by 180 degrees. The slots 17 may extend over only part of the length of the rotor and be of continuously decreasing depth. Alternatively, the rotor may comprise two juxtaposed cylinders, only one being formed with grooves.
