Abstract

1318405 Protective arrangements VEREINIGTE FLUGTECHNISCHE WERKEFOKKER GmbH 3 Sept 1970 [11 Sept 1969] 42311/70 Heading H2K In a flight control system having three control channels 1-3 acting on a common controlled device (not shown), a protective system is arranged so that after disconnection of a first channel, e.g. channel 1, on operation of a fault detector 4, the remaining channels 2, 3 are individually connected to the ends of series connected resistors 19, 20 from the junction of which the controlled device is energized. The remaining channels 2, 3 are also connected to a differential amplifier 23 which in the event of a second channel becoming defective, supplies an output signal having a polarity dependent on the relative polarity between the channels and causes the operation of a relay C or D by rendering a transistor 31 or 32 conductive. The operation of the relay C or D prepares a circuit at contacts c 2 , c 3 or d 2 for a relay A or B, this circuit being completed on the operation of a control column, tending to correct for the fault, changing over a switch S 1 or S 2 . The consequent energization of the relay A or B causes the opening of contacts a 1 or b 1 to interrupt the defective second channel.
