1324335 Magnetic heads AKAI ELECTRIC CO Ltd 11 Sept 1970 [12 Sept 1969 29 Oct 1969 3 Nov 1969 4 Dec 1969 22 Dec 1969 6 Feb 1970] 43677/70 Heading G5R A magnetic tape head has pairs of polepieces 8a, 9a with an intervening screen 10a and wearresistant members 21, 22 all in a front section 5 attachable to a rear section 6 containing U- shaped yokes 8b, 9b. Further wear-resistant members 23-26 of transparent glass or plastics allow use of interference fringe techniques during lapping and aligning. The section 5 is stuck to a Be-Cu frame 7 screwed adjustably to the rear section 6 to facilitate adjustment of the magnetic characteristics. The section 6 includes a screen continuation 10b, and the completed head is potted in a screening can.
