Abstract

1338735 Ni/Cr/Al alloys PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 17 Feb 1972 [20 Feb 1971] 7408/72 Heading C7A [Also in Division H1] A stabilized film resistor is formed using an alloy of nickel, chromium and aluminium, mixed in the per cent parts by weight of Nickel: 15-55, chromium: 10-68 and aluminium 2-60. The resistor film may be deposited on a substrate using conventional techniques e.g. by flash evaporation in which small quantities of the alloy are successively placed on a hot evaporation source or by cathodic sputtering. When the film has been deposited, the resistor is stabilized by heating it in an oxygen containing atmosphere such as air at 300-350‹C. for 4 hours.
