Abstract
1346617 Fluidised-bed separating BUEHLER AG GEBR 27 April 1971 [29 April 1970] 11707/71 Heading B2H In a method of dry sorting and separate removal of sorted fractions of granular bulk material, the latter is continuously fed towards a discharge assembly 11 over a stationary, inclined, gas-pervious floor 5 through which gas is passed in a pulsatory manner so as to form a fluidised bed of the material whereby the latter is stratified into fractions, at least one of the fractions being removed from the bed by a gas flow acting on the material in the region of the discharge assembly. As shown, the material to be separated is fed through a feed device 35. Gas is blown by means of a fan 58 through the floor 5 via a conduit 16, gas distributing and regulating perforated plates 6, 7 and gas distribution chambers 10. The fan 58 has two suction apertures 158′, 158″ partly covered by a suction regulating valve 258 and is driven via a belt 57 by a motor-driven gearing unit 56 which also drives, through a belt 59, a gasnow-intermittently-interrupting-valve 60 rotatable in the conduit 16. The discharge assembly 11 comprises gas-pervious slide floors 15, 18 arranged cascade-like and having gas distribution chambers 17, 20 therebeneath respectively connected to the conduit 16 via a valve 61 and a conduit 19 having a throttle 62. The slide floor 18 leads to a first discharge shaft 21 below which is arranged a vibratory discharge apparatus 22. Downstream of the floor 18 are provided an overflow edge 39, a gaspervious floor 30 and a second discharge shaft 26. Gas is passed through the floor 30 via perforated distribution and regulating plates 31, 33 and a gas distribution chamber 32. A hood 40 extending over the floor 5 and the discharge assembly 11 is provided with a valved gas discharge outlet 41. Different fractions of material corresponding to segregated top layers of the fluidised bed of material are removed through suction nozzles 45, 46 which communicate with fixed suction conduits 50, 51 equipped with adjusting valves 52, 53. In a modification, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), an individually adjustable regulating plate is provided in each gas distribution chamber (10) above the gas distributing plate (6). The chamber (17) communicates with the conduit (16) through perforated adjusting and distributing plates (65, 66). The conduit (16) leads downwardly and laterally (past the discharge shaft (21)) to gas distributing chambers (69) provided below the slide floor (18). Downstream of the slide floor (18) is a vertically adjustable baffle plate (14) over which material is discharged into an outlet (13). The suction conduits above the floor (5) are vertically adjustable. Other forms of apparatus are described.
