Abstract
1346734 Coating with metals by evaporation COCKERILL-OUGREE-PROVIDENCE ET ESPERANCE-LONGDOZ EN ABREGE “COCKERILL” 24 Jan 1972 [22 Jan 1971] 3223/72 Heading C7F A hollow member, e.g. a steel bottle 8, is coated with e.g. Ni, Cr, Al, Cd, Co, Zn, by connecting a chamber 2 to the bottle and exhausting it with a pump 4, and then moving a steel wire 12 sheathed with the vapourisable metal along a guide bar 11 into the bottle. The coating operation may be repeated several times and the coated bottle may be tempered. In a modification Fig. 2 (not shown) the chamber consists of a box with a lid, in which the heating elements are mounted.
