Abstract
1349430 Bobbin hangers MURATA MACHINERY Ltd and KANEBO Ltd 2 June 1972 [11 Oct 1971] 25770/72 Heading D1J The bobbin hanger 3 has bellows 9 that can be inflated to drive a slider 11 downwardly and so cause two pawls 17 to move outwardly of the hanger 3 about a common pin 16. When the bellows 9 are not inflated the slider 11 is moved upwardly by a spring 13. In the absence of a bobbin a coiled spring 18 then returns the pawls 17 to the retracted setting shown. The hanger 3 is carried by a support arm 8 that can be moved downwardly to cause the hanger 3 to enter into an upstanding bobbin (19) Fig. 2 (not shown). Thereafter inflation of the bellows 9 causes the pawls 17 to move outwardly of the hanger 3 and engage under internal shoulders (22) of the bobbin. The support arm 8 is then raised to cause the pawls 17 to lift and support the bobbin. Under these circumstances, when the bellows are deflated, the pawls 17 do not retract since they are held outwardly disposed by the weight of the bobbin. The hanger 3 may carry a hood-shaped skirt (101) Fig. 3 (not shown) near its lower end, this skirt causing any bobbins that are out of alignment to be aligned with the descending hanger 3. In Fig. 4, when compressed air is supplied via the tube 201, end pressure in the chamber 207 forces the tube 201 to the right. This axial thrust on the tube 201 causes its shoulder arrangement 202 to press against a rubber seal 203 to prevent leakage of compressed air.
