Abstract
1353741 Pneumatic conveyers MOLINS Ltd 19 April 1971 [9 Jan 1970 7 July 1970] 1195/70 and 32934/70 Heading B8A A pneumatic conveyer comprises a U-sectioned track with two parallel rows 2, 3′ of nozzles arranged in the base thereof to supply jets of air to support and convey articles along the track. In a curved portion of the track the outer row of nozzles 13 are arranged to supply a greater flow of air, by way of higher pressure or increased cross-section than the inner row 12. The track is made from sheet metal and the nozzles, which are directed inwardly at each other, are formed by depressions 4 in the base with an aperature 5 at one end to admit air from a common source (not shown). In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 6 (not shown), the nozzles are formed by slitting the base along three sides to form a flap 7. A cover may be provided over the track.
