Abstract
1353892 Nitroimidazolyl-s-triazolo[4, 3-6] pyridazines BOEHRINGER MANNHEIM GmbH 15 Jan 1973 [1 April 1972] 2057/73 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds having the general formula wherein R is hydrogen, or alkyl optionally substituted in the 2-position by hydroxyl, acyloxy or alkoxy; A is hydrogen, halogen, azido, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkyl sulphonyl, carboxyl, alkoxy carbonyl or alkoxy carbonimidoyl, or hydrazino, carbamoyl, amidino or carboximidohydrazide optionally substituted by one or two acyl, alkyl or cycloalkyl groups, or A is a group of the formula where R 1 and R 2 , which may be the same or different, are hydrogen, acyl, alkoxy carbonyl or straight-chained, branched, or cyclic alkyl groups optionally substituted by hydroxyl, alkoxy, amino, mono- or di-alkylamino or mono- or diacylamino, or R 1 and R 2 together form a C 3-6 alkylene bridge which can be interrupted by an oxygen or sulphur atom or by a nitrogen atom carrying a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical, the alkylene bridge being optionally substituted by hydroxy or alkyl groups, or R 1 and R 2 together form a dialkyl sulphimino or dialkyl-sulphoximino group, the alkyl groups of which each contain up to 5 carbon atoms, R 3 is hydrogen or alkyl, or R 2 and R 3 together form a C 3-4 alkylene bridge and n is 0 or 1; and the pharmacologically compatible salts thereof. In the case where A has the Formula II, they are prepared by reacting a compound of the formula where X is a reactive group and Z is nitro or amino, with an amine or amine derivative, whereafter, if necessary, a substituent is introduced into, split off from or changed in the amino group, and, if desired, a substituent A is converted into a different A and, when Z is an amino group, this is converted into a nitro group. The compounds may also be prepared by cyclizing a compound of the formula and, if desired, converting a substituent A into a different substituent A and, when Z is an amino group, converting this into a nitro group. The compounds of the invention exhibit antimicrobial activity and may be administered orally or parenterally in admixture with a solid or liquid pharmaceutical diluent or carrier.
