1354208 Flame ionization detectors HAG AG 21 Nov 1972 [30 Nov 1971] 53696/72 Heading HID In order to reduce the presure of incoming sample gas to a flame ionization detector for super-critical fluid chromatography, a diaphragm 21 having a fine aperture typically 2 Á to 10 Á in diameter is arranged in the inlet port to the burner jet 17. Several such diaphragms may be used in series with separating gold gaskets 22. Hydrogen is admitted via capillary 18 and air through pipe 24. An ignition electrode 26 is provided.
