1363158 Silyl metallic complexes DOW CORNING CORP 26 Sept 1972 [15 Dec 1971] 44336/72 Heading C3S Silyl platinum complexes and novel silyl palladium complexes of the formula wherein R denotes a C 1-18 monovalent hydrocarbon radical, R1 denotes a C 1-10 monovalent hydrocarbon radical, Y denotes halogen other than fluorine, M denotes Pt or Pd, b is 0 or 1, and m is 1 or 2, are prepared by reacting disilanes R n Si 2 Cl 6-n (where n is 0, 1 or 2) or hydrosilanes HSiR b Cl 3-b with M(PR1 3 ) 2 Y 2 at a temperature not greater than 150‹ C. in the absence of an acid acceptor.
