Abstract
1365379 Swimming pool covers H C BURKHOLZ and N K BURKHOLZ 16 Aug 1971 [27 Aug 1970] 38296/71 Heading A4N [Also in Division E2] A swimming pool 10, has supported on its peripheral rim a dome 20 comprising a framework of, for example, aluminium tubes, over which is stretched a flexible sheet 40. The framework is formed of a plurality of tubular supports 22, each support extending from a bracket 23 bolted to the top rail 15 of the pool to a central connector member 21. Each tubular support is formed by four slidably-connected sections 27-30, each section having at its lower end a spigot which engages the upper end of the adjacent lower section. The flexible sheet 40 is formed from a plurality of sections welded together and is provided about its periphery with grommets 45, 51 by which it is secured to hooks 46 on the pool, by means of S-shaped hooks 47, resilient straps 50 and a line 52. Access to the pool is gained via a door 55, and windows 60 may be provided for ventilation, the door and windows being fitted with zip fasteners. The pool 10 comprises a floor 11 and a bottom rail 12 from which rise vertical legs 13 which are inter-connected at the top by a top, rail, 15. The vertical legs 13 are joined by side walls 16 and the pool has a flexible liner 17.
