1374756 Variable pitch propellers HAWKER SIDDELEY DYNAMICS Ltd 13 Oct 1971 [13 July 1970] 33942/70 Heading B7V [Also in Division G3] In a propeller pitch control system, an input signal applied to potentiometer 1 varies the control pressure applied at G to pilot spool 10 whereby the latter shifts to establish a pressure differential via E, F across pitch-control piston 4 which then shifts in the same direction as potentiometer 1 until the pilot spool is returned to its null position by potentiometer 2 which accompanies the piston and adjusts the feedback pressure applied at H to the spool. Each potentiometer may consist of a plunger having helical or axial grooves intermediate supply port B, C and drain ports K, L.
