Abstract

1375637 Transducers QUICK-ROTAN BECKER & NOTZ KG 14 July 1972 [16 July 1971] 33182/72 Heading G1N [Also in Division D1] Apparatus for producing an adjustable voltage for use in a motor speed control circuit comprises an arcuate permanent magnet 30 Fig. 1 mounted on a non-magnetic disc 28 attached to a spindle 9 for angular displacement by an arm 10, whereby with displacement in one direction the magnetic field associated with a fixed Hall plate element 32 is varied to produce the desired output voltage from element 32. The magnet 30, in the shape of a segment of a ring, is arranged on an oblique surface 29 of the disc 28. The spindle 9 is axially spring-loaded by spring 16 at one end and at the other end carries a ball socket plate 22 which co-operates with a similar fixed socket plate 23 to form three sockets in which are located balls 25. The arrangement causes the spindle 9 to return after displacement to a zero position. Displacement of spindle 9 by arm 10 is produced by coupling an adjustable ball head 12 by a bar, not shown, to the pedal of a sewing machine. Displacement in the opposite direction causes a pin magnet 31 to pass the Hall plate element 32 to produce a voltage pulse used for predetermined control purposes. The spindle 9 also carries elements 34, 35, 36 for operating switches 37, 38, 39 at pre-set angular positions.
