1414895 Stirring apparatus MITSUBISHI JUKOGYO KK 12 Jan 1973 [19 Jan 1972] 1847/73 Heading B1C Apparatus for stirring fluids comprises a cylindrical or conical container 1, a plurality of rotatable shafts 7, 8 which do not have a common axis and a plurality of stirring members 3, 4 which are located radially remote from the axes of shafts 7, 8 but rigidly connected thereto, wherein adjacent ones of the stirring members are spaced slightly apart or in light contact with each other, wherein at any location of the stirring members one or more stirring members is or are spaced slightly apart from or in light contact with the inner wall of the container and wherein each stirring member is connected to a respective one of the shafts so that in operation each stirring member will rotate about its own axis while it rotates bodily about the axis of rotation of the respective rotatable shaft. Fig. 1 shows the path of the stirrers. Fig. 2 shows the container with a jacket 2 having heating medium inlet and outlet 13, 14. The stirrers may be hollow to allow heating medium to pass therethrough. The stirrers may be spirallv shaped or have an elliptical cross-section instead of circular as illustrated.
