1438429 Coating composition FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 5 Sept 1974 [6 Sept 1973] 38822/74 Heading C3B A powder coating composition comprises a mixture of: (I) a copolymer comprising 5-20% by weight of a glycidyl ester of a monoethylenically unsaturated acid, 2-10% by wt. of a C 5 -C 7 hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate and 70- 93% of at least one other monoethylenically unsaturated monomer, and having a glass transition temperature of 40-90‹ C. and number average molecular weight of 1500- 15,000; (II) an anhydride curing agent to provide 0À3-1À2 anhydride groups per functional group of I (i.e. epoxy plus hydroxy groups); and (III) a hydroxycarboxylic acid having m.p. 40-150‹ C. to provide 0À1-0À4 OH groups and 0À1-0À4 COOH groups per functional group of I. Examples of I, II and III are set out in Specifications 1,429,758 and 1,425,147.
