Abstract

1441875 Aerating liquids HOUDAILLE INDUSTRIES Inc 6 Aug 1974 [8 Nov 1973] 34669/74 Heading B1C A multiple jet aerator unit 11 for use in aerating waste liquid comprises an elongate tubular member 23 which forms a liquid duct and carries a series of outwardly directed nozzles 28, a further duct wall member 24 mounted on the tubular member 23 so as to enclose the liquid nozzles 28 and providing an air duct, and a series of liquid/air nozzles 12 aligned with the liquid nozzles 28. The tubular and duct wall members 23, 24 are preferably formed of filament wound reinforced fibre glass, the nozzles 28, 12 are of moulded fibre glass and adhesively secured to the memhers 23, 24 and the whole unit is wrapped with a layer 34 of filament wound fibre glass. In use the unit 11 is submerged in waste liquid e.g. in a tank 10, waste liquid is pumped into the liquid duct and compressed air is supplied to the air duct, the issuing liquid/air jets serving to aerate and stir up the contents of the tank.
