Abstract
1442045 Electronic taximeters KIENZLE APPARATE GmbH 21 March 1974 [24 March 1973] 12739/74 Heading G4T During a journey, accumulating fare and extras totals are stored separately in a taximeter, at least the fare total being displayed, and means are provided for causing the two totals to be added and the resultant sum displayed upon completion of the journey. Time and distance pulses entering a logic unit 17 at k 6 and k 7 are divided in frequency in accordince with a constant defined by constant generator 16, which is in turn governed by the tariff selected at control unit 2. The resultant fare pulses are stored in a first section of store 1 and displayed at 6. Extras keyed in at 2 and other constants generated at 16 are stored in a second section of store 1 and displayed at 7. Updating of the fare and extras amounts held in store 1 is effected by an adder 13/14. At the end of the trip, depression of a key at 2 conditions unit 17 to order the addition at 13-15 of corresponding denominations of the two numbers held in store 1 and representing fare and extras respectively. The resultant sum is entered into the second store section and displayed at 7, whilst the first store section continues to hold the fares total. A further key may be provided at 2 to reverse the above addition operation and return the fares and extras totals separately to the first and second store sections. Alternatively, a single key may be provided for performing the addition operation when it is depressed and for holding the results for as long as it is kept depressed and for reversing the addition when it is released.
