Abstract

1445143 Electro-photography ITEK CORP 24 Oct 1973 [2 Nov 1972] 49515/73 Heading G2H Developed electrostatic toner images on a photoconductive member, which may be a drum 50 or a web, are transferred to copy paper 88 by intermediate member 80, which has an outer layer with a surface free energy below 40 dynes/cm., a hardness of 3 to 70 decrometers and a heat capacity below 3À1 calories x 10-3/cm.2‹C. The toner image on the intermediate member is heated to melting, then transferred to the copy paper under pressure. The intermediate member may be a rotating cylinder or an endless belt, and may be surfaced with a fluorelastomer or silicone rubber.
