1447052 Supply systems for electric blankets and pads DREAMLAND ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES Ltd 7 March 1974 [25 April 1973] 19709/73 Heading H5H [Also in Division H2] An electrically heated blanket or pad 10 has a resistance heating element 11 consisting of a plurality of wires or strands 12 electrically insulated from one another, the wires 12 being connected to a selector device 14 by means of which one or more of the wires may be connected to a low voltage supply. In the disclosed embodiment there are 24 strands each designed to dissipate 5 watts; the blanket power dissipation may therefore be varied by 5 watt steps. The strands 12 may be directly connected to the selector device 14 or may be connected thereto by means of leads which extend from the blanket. A step-down transformer 16 and a plug and socket 15 may be connected between the mains supply and the selector device 14.
