Abstract
1457454 Gaming apparatus NSM-APPARATEBAU GmbH 20 Dec 1973 [27 Dec 1972] 59176/73 Heading G4V A gaming apparatus includes a display panel 6 having game feature carriers 5 and other indicating devices which comprise liquid crystal display elements. All the various indications, such as winning symbols, loss symbols, a winnings matrix and a special game counter, as well as the display of features providing an impetus for using the apparatus, are displayed by means of liquid crystal display elements. The elements are preferably arranged to provide a display of different colours by the use of filters that may be changed. The liquid crystal displays may be produced as an integrated display panel, so that it may be formed as a single unit. Preferably, the apparatus has first and second counters (18) and (19), Fig. 2 (not shown), a clock generator 1 connected to apply clock pulses to said counters, a shift register (29), means for selectively applying the outputs of the counters to the shift register, and a decoder (30) coupled to stages of the shift register for controlling those of the liquid crystal display elements which the game feature carriers comprise. Also there is a source of coded signals for arbitrary frequency, obtained from random number generator 15, signal transforming means responsive to a lower frequency and, means for controlling further ones of the liquid crystal display elements with the output of the signal transforming means.
