Abstract
1460206 Baths JACUZZI RESEARCH Inc 20 Sept 1974 [19 Feb 1974] 41100/74 Heading A4N [ Also in Divisions B1 and F1] A hydromassage bath assembly comprises a rectangular bath 1, Fig. 1, having four jet assemblies 3 in the corners thereof, each jet assembly being adapted to inject a stream of water having bubbles entrained therein into the bath and comprising a nozzle 37, Fig. 3, in communication with a passsage 29 supplied with water from a pump, said nozzle having apertures 43 in its sides through which air is entrained from a pipe 29 when water flows through the nozzle, the pipe 29 being in communication with an air intake nozzle (79), Fig. 6 (not shown), which is open to atmosphere and contains a ball valve which permits entry of air but blocks passage of water in the reverse direction by ball (83) seating on a further lip (85) should a jet assembly become blocked. When air enters the nozzle (79), the ball seats on a shoulder (87) which is notched or eccentrically formed to permit airflow past the ball valve when the ball seats on the shoulder. The quantity of air admitted to the jet assemblies may be varied by rotation of knobs 51, 53 on a control panel 49, such rotation opening or closing valves (71), (73), Fig. 5 (not shown), in a housing (57) provided in the path of the air-flow from the nozzle (79) to the jet assemblies, the quantity of air admitted to the two assemblies at one end of the bath being controllable independently of the other two.
