1462097 Reforming catalysts INSTITUT FRANCAIS DU PETROLE 16 April 1974 [16 April 1973] 16568/74 Heading C5E [Also in Division B1] Hydrocarbon feeds are isomerized or reformed using a catalyst comprising an alumina carrier, a group VIII noble metal and chlorine, wherein the chlorine has been introduced by use of a gas mixture of (i) chlorine and/or hydrochloric acid and (ii) carbon disulphide or carbon oxysulphide. Saturated hydrocarbon feeds may be isomerized at 25-400‹ C. in the presence of hydrogen. Suitable reaction conditions include a pressure of 1 atom to 150 kg/cm
