Abstract
1462326 Cutting inserts; milling cutters SECO TOOLS AB 19 May 1975 [24 May 1974] 21297/75 Headings B3B and B3K A reversible cutting insert for use in a rotary cutting tool such as a milling cutter comprises a flat polygonal shaped member with a peripheral surface which intersects with the flat faces 14 to form a plurality of primary cutting edges 10, each corner of the insert being provided with a pair of adjacent bevel faces 13, 21 which are separated by flat surface from a further pair of bevel faces 27, 28 the respective pairs of bevel faces being located at diagonally opposite corners of a rectangular insert and being at an angle of less than 90 degrees with opposite side faces 14 respectively, both adjacent bevel faces being at less than 90 degrees to their respective face 14 one of the bevel faces forming a secondary cutting edge 11, 30 which co-operates with a primary cutting edge in making a finishing cut when the insert is in use. The inserts are securable in angularly spaced positions around a cutter body 33 and are secured by screw 37.
