1462327 Coating webs KESKUSLABORATORIO-CENTRALLABORATORIUM AB OY 18 June 1975 [23 July 1974] 26005/75 Heading D1L In the coating of a web e.g. paper, by contact of the web 1 with a roll 2, the coating material is metered onto the roll from supply chamber 9 by doctor blade 4, an additional blade 8 also being provided to remove excess material from the roll, the excess being recycled via line 15. The gaps 13, 14 between the roll and blades 4, 8 may be 0.01-3.0 mm, gap 13 being maintained smaller than 14. The roll may be supported on magnetic sliding bearings 3. The coating material is supplied from pressure-equalizing chamber 12 via holes 10, 11 into chamber 9.
