Abstract

1462445 Transistor amplifier circuits MOTOROLA Inc 9 Oct 1974 [26 Dec 1973] 43770/74 Heading H3T A CMOS amplifier 10 with low output impedance, comprises an inverter 12 coupled to an output stage having a bi-polar transistor 28, a feedback resistor 34 coupling the output to the input of the inverter. In an integrated circuit the inverter 12 includes P-channel MOSFET 16 and N-channel MOSFET 18, the drain electrodes of which are connected to the base of a bi-polar lateral NPN transistor 28 acting as an emitter follower. The feedback resistor 34 and an input resistor 36 may be “tub” resistors in a P-type high resistivity part of the device, or they may be MOSFET’s biased in their triode region. The emitter resistor 30 may be on or off the chip depending on the magnitude and accuracy of resistance required.
