1466371 Modulating light E BAUCHES SA 29 April 1974 [21 May 1973] 18732/74 Heading G2F In a display device of the type comprising a shaped layer of solid electrochromic material, changes colour in response to an electric current, on a transparent electrode and a liquid electrolyte disposed between the shaped layer and a counterelectrode, the electrolyte is doped with a salt of a cation selected to render insoluble the products derived from the electrochromic material during operation of the device, and so preserve the shaping of the layer.
