Abstract
1467000 A range gate stealing transponder MARCONI CO Ltd 25 Jan 1974 [31 Jan 1973] 4906/73 Heading H4L A range gate stealing transponder incorporates a switch 14 which is closed in response to a received radar pulse to couple a time fraction of that pulse into a recirculating delay line 20 of a delay at least as long as the time fraction, means for transmitting the signals passing along the delay line over a period not less than the duration of a plurality of the time fractions, and a modulator 24 which imposes a random phase modulation on the recirculating signal (e.g. by random noise or random discrete phase shifts).
