Abstract
1476430 Sealing closure VERSAPAK (UK) Ltd 20 Aug 1974 [12 Sept 1973] 42891/73 Heading B6P A zip fastener of which 14 is the moving part is held closed by retention of tag 15 in seal portion 16 by coin-engageable expendable member 17, which distorts as it is pushed through slot 20 in Fig. 15 and aperture 21 in portion 16. When the resilient blades 40, 41 at the end of the member 17 clear the aperture 21 they spring back and lock the member in position. Tag 15 can then be released only by breaking the member 17. This may be done by inserting a coin in slot 34 and twisting it to break neck 37. The two parts of member 17 then fall away on opposite sides of the portion 16. Preferably the zip fastener is a bag or envelope closure, and the seal is repeatedly made and broken by use of a succession of members 17.
