Abstract
1480000 Cameras HONEYWELL Inc 20 March 1975 [22 March 1974] 11650/75 Heading G2A A camera has a shutter-diaphragm comprising two apertured blades 2, 4 which move towards each other to form a diaphragm aperture and, in response to the sensing of a predetermined amount of light through the aperture, move away from each other to terminate exposure. As described on depressing a shutter button 92 Fig. 3 a switch 96, Figs. 3, 8 is operated to energize a motor 132 which via a mechanism (170, 172, 162, 44) Figs. 2, 4 to 7 (not shown), focuses the lens (40). When focused, switches 202, 204 are opened to switch off the motor and a switch 220 is opened to deenergize a solenoid 98, which releases a plate 62 for movement by a spring 72. Plate 62 is coupled to a tang 12, Fig. 1B on a ring 10 which is connected at 14 and 18 to the blades 2, 4. The blades thus open until a light sensing circuit 210 deenergizes a solenoid 100 to release a plate 64 for movement by a spring 78. Plate 64 is coupled to plate 62 and moves it to close the shutter blades. This closes a switch 200 which energizes motor 132 in the reverse direction provided that (a) the shutter button 92 has been released to release switch 96 (b) the view-finder is properly retracted to close switch 194 (c) the film catridge chamber door is properly closed to close switch 196. The motor cocks the shutter via a linkage mechanism (128, 126, 124, 120, 116) which moves a bar 108 to operate a pawl 134 for moving plate 64. The motor also moves the lens (40) back to a start position and advances the film via a mechanism (137 to 140, 142, 144). When the film is in position switch 200 is opened to stop the motor. Flash control. During initial opening of the shutter the light sensing circuit 210 closes a switch 218 coupled to a flash circuit 192 if the light is weak. Then plate 62 operates flash synch contacts (180) via an arm 150. The contacts (180) are carried by an arm (162) which is part of the focusing mechanism, so that the time at which the flash is fired is adjusted according to lens focus. Specification 1471281 is referred to.
