Abstract

1481998 Transistor amplifying circuits SONY CORP 19 Sept 1974 [27 Sept 1973] 40910/74 Heading H3T A temperature stable amplifier comprises a transistor 11 having a resistor R2 and possibly k diodes in its base circuit and possibly a resistor R1 and m diodes in its emitter circuit and a bias source E B , where k, m and R1 may be zero, the arrangement being such as to satisfy the equation: where V 10 and V 20 are the voltage drops across R1 and R2 respectively at a predetermined temperature; K R is the temperature coefficient of the resistors R1, R2; K H is the temperature coefficient of the h fe of the transistor; #E B is an increment per degree of E B ; and #V BE is the voltage drop across a forward biased PN junction. If the above equation holds, then the emitter current of the transistor is constant with variations in these circuit parameters caused by temperature changes. The bias E B may be derived from a potentiometer containing further diodes and/or resistors, R3, R4, D c1 ….D cn . D d1 …D dl . Figs. 6-16 (not shown) gives circuits which omit various ones of the optional diodes and/or resistors. As diodes, transistors with their base collector paths connected via further resistors may be used, Figs. 17, 18 (not shown).
