Abstract

1482131 Measuring displacement electrically ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 26 July 1974 [22 Oct 1973] 33112/74 Heading G1N A displacement transducer uses a short-circuited ring or a pair of short circuit rings KR movable along a magnetic core K without contacting it so as to vary the inductance of a coil S wound upon the core which coil serves both as an excitation coil and also as a sensing coil. In an alternative embodiment Fig. 8 (not shown) two coils, Sl, S2, are wound on the core and connected in series aiding or series opposing. The arrangement of Fig. 12 is applied to measurement of angular displacement. In use the rings KR are linked to the object of which the displacement is to be measured.
