Abstract
1500878 Hydraulic control circuits INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO 9 July 1976 [24 July 1975] 28637/76 Heading F1P In the circuit shown, Fig. 1, which includes a pressure relief valve 5, a valve 17 is provided, operated by a float 19 in the reservoir, which diverts fluid in the output line to the input line when the level in the reservoir falls below a predetermined level. In a normal operation, a portion of the fluid in line 4 is directed to a control line 7 and a throttle 8 to establish a pressure which holds the valve 5 in the position shown in Fig. 1 against an opening 6. If a leak occurs in the line 9, the level in the reservoir drops and the float 19 opens the valve 17. This allows fluid in the control line 16 to escape into the reservoir. Simultaneously pressure in the control line drops and the spool of valve 5 moves to the right. This causes valve 13 to divert fluid from line 4 through line 14 to the intake line 2. This prevents further losses and ensures the pump does not run dry. The valve 17, Fig. 2, may also be opened by high-pressure peaks acting on a face 33 through a line 25. Fig. 3 (not shown), illustrates an alternative construction of’the valve 5.
