Abstract
1516593 Camera shutter SEIKO KOKI KK 12 May 1976 [14 May 1975] 19547/76 Heading G2A A camera shutter has an opening member 4 for moving opening blades 3, a closing member 6 for moving closing blades (not shown), and a charge member 10 for charging the opening and closing members 4 and 6; the arrangement being such that after the opening member 4 has run off it holds the charge member 10 in position, and when the closing member 6 runs off the closing member 6 is in turn held by the charge member 10 to prevent rebound. As shown, the shutter is operable in automatic, manual and bulb modes. Automatic mode. A selection lever 29, (Fig. 2) is set to “A” to disable mechanical timing and bulb exposure levers 27, 28. Operation of release lever 19 frees a lever 18 which closes a flash synch contact 18b for lamps having a long delay and releases a hook 17 from a gear 16. Gear 16 rotates CW (clockwise) and this (a) rotates a wheel 20 CW to rotate a lever 24 CW and thereby free an armature lever 25, which however is held by an electromagnet 26. (b) releases a hook 22 to free a cam wheel 21 which opens contacts (33, 34) Fig. 5 (not shown) to start shutter timing. Cam wheel 21 also pushes a lever 23 which releases a hook 5 (Fig. 1). Release of hooks 5 enables closing member 4 to rotate CW and open the shutter. Towards the end of its movement, member 4 (a) turns charge member 10 to free a hook 12 and allow a contact lever 11 to close flash synch contacts 11d, 13 for lamps having a short delay. (b) holds charge member 10 in position by means of a pin 4f engaged in a recess 10b. After a timed period, the electromagnet 26 (Fig. 2) is de-energized, releasing armature lever 25 which pivots a hook 7 (Fig. 1) to free closing member 6. This closes the shutter and at the end of its movement abuts a stop pin 5c and is prevented from rebounding by engagement of a hook 6g with a cut-out 10d of charge member 10. Manual mode. Lever 29 (Fig. 2) is set to “M” In this case, armature lever 25 is held by a mechanical timing lever 27. When the opening member 4 (Fig. 1) completes its opening movement, it frees hook 12 as before and this hook shifts the mechanical timing lever 27 (Fig. 2) to free armature lever 25 which pivots hook 7, (Fig. 1) to free closing member 6 as before. Bulb mode. Lever 29 (Fig. 2) is set to “B”. In this case, armature lever 25 is held by a bulb lever’ 28 until the camera button is released (no mechanism for release of lever 28 is described). Shutter cocking. A cocking lever 8 (Fig. 1) is turned ACW to move charge member 10 which rotates the opening and closing members 4 and 6 into charged positions in which they are latched by hooks 5 and 7. The lever 8 or member 10 may have a rebound prevention arrangement (not shown) for the opening member 4.
