Abstract
1517160 Bearings; resilient bushes UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY 24 Nov 1975 [10 Dec 1974] 53395/74 Headings F2A and F2S A gas bearing assembly comprises a shaft 10 (Fig. 4) co-operating with sleeve 9, the sleeve being radially located in a fixed member by an elastomeric support comprising annular member 3 having a reduced amount of material at three angularly spaced intervals whereby the support can deform under load both circumferentially and axially. The reduction in material may be provided by lobes 2 on the inner or outer perimeter of the annulus (Figs. 1, 2) or by slots or holes within it (not shown).
