Abstract

1517379 Charging batteries GEORGE KENT Ltd 29 Oct 1976 [31 Oct 1975] 45454/75 Heading H2H An electrical circuit adapted to be supplied by rechargeable batteries 14, 16 comprises input terminals 2, 4, output terminals 30, 34, rectifiers 38, 40 and a capacitor 36, the capacitor presenting a high impedance to a signal generated by the circuit at the output terminals and a low impedance to an alternating voltage applied to the output terminals to charge the batteries via the rectifiers. The input terminals 2, 4 are connected to a dissolved oxygen probe and the output signal at the terminals 30, 34 is supplied to a meter. When the batteries require charging, the meter is disconnected from the terminals 30, 34 which are connected to a 50 Hz voltage supply. The batteries 14, 16 are charged via the capacitor 36 and the rectifiers 38, 40, a filter 28, 32 minimizing the amount of 50 Hz voltage which appears at the output 25 of an amplifier 10 in the circuit.
