Abstract
1522500 Power steering motor control TOYODA JIDO SHOKKI SEISAKUSHO KK 23 Dec 1975 [24 Dec 1974] 52682/75 Heading B7H A power steering control system, for an industrial truck having separate electric motors for hydraulic pumps of the steering and a lifting circuit, wherein the steering motor 20 is operable in response to depression of the accelerator pedal and switched off after a predetermined delay on pedal release. A vehicle battery is connected via a fuse 30 and a normally open relay 40 to the steering motor 20. Relay 40 is shunted by a key-operated switch 50 in series with an accelerator pedal controlled switch 60 and a coil 71 which forms part .of a time delay mechanism 70, the contacts of which are in parallel with switch 60 and coil 71. A further coil 42 is arranged in series with contacts 42. When the driver switches on and depresses the accelerator pedal switches 50, 60 are respectively closed and coil 71 is actuated causing immediate closure of contacts 72 to actuate coil 42. Energizing coil 42 causes closure of relay 40 and tho power steering becomes operable. When the accelerator pedal is released switch 60 opens de-energizing coil 71 and opening contacts 72, however, the time delay mechanism is such that contacts 72 are not opened immediately so that power steering is available for a time after the pedal release.
