Abstract
1522933 Recovering solvent by washing PETROLCHEMISCHES KOMBINAT SCHWEDT VEB 15 Feb 1977 [18 Feb 1976] 06318/77 Heading C5E A process for the recovery of a non-aromatic solvent (A) from a raffinate aromatic, benzenecontaining, component (B) having been dissolved by solvent (A) in an extractive distillation column comprises subjecting the solution of (B) in solvent (A) to a water-washing operation carried out in a washer and on the parallel flow principle, wherein washing water is circulated through the washer until the water has acquired 20-60% by weight of the solvent (A) after which the washing water with accompanying solvent (A) is introduced into a desorption column and treated therein in such a way that the washing water with accompanying solvent (A) is conveyed separately through a first conduit, after being heated to a temperature of 60-85‹ C., to the desorption column, and the solvent (A) emanating from the extractive distillation column and heated to boiling point is conveyed separately through a second conduit below the first conduit to the distillation column, the ratio by weight of water to component B dissolved in the solvent (A) being 1:10 or less. Preferably the solvent (A) is a dialkylamide especially N-dimethylformamide.
