1529289 Applying heat A L McKIMMEY and C W McWHORTER [trading as PROCTO THERM Ltd PARTNERSHIP] 17 Aug 1977 [20 June 1977] 34524/77 Heading ASR A proctologic device for hemorroid treatment comprises a heat conducting tubular probe 46 containing an electrical resistance heater connected to a battery 50 in a portable casing 48 by a cable 52. The casing includes a manual temperature controller 54 which allows a temperature setting between body temperature and 45C. A transducer in the probe ensures that the set temperature is maintained. The resistance heater is encapsulated in material such as an epoxy plastics. A battery recharger 150 can be connected to the casing once the cable 52 is disconnected.
